What's Changing

Six layers of withdrawal protection

Every layer ships in firmware v2.4 and applies to every signed withdrawal โ€” with MetaMask, OKX Wallet, BlueWallet, Solflare, or Keystone Nexus.

New
๐Ÿ“‹

Address Whitelisting

Approve Once. Trust Forever.

Lock withdrawals to trusted addresses approved on-device. Any new destination forces an enhanced confirmation โ€” phishing addresses never slip through.

New
โณ

24h New-Address Hold

Slow Down Attacks, Not You.

The first withdrawal to any new address waits 24 hours with an on-device countdown. A stolen recovery phrase can no longer drain funds instantly.

Travel Rule Prompts

Comply On Your Terms.

Where regulation requires it, companion apps prompt for originator and beneficiary details โ€” that data never touches your keys.

Updated
๐Ÿ”

On-Device Verification

Don't Trust, Verify.

Every amount, address, and network appears on the 4-inch trusted display before signing โ€” now legally reaffirmed as your record of authorization.

New
๐Ÿšฆ

Session Signing Limits

Set The Cap. Keep The Keys.

Optional per-session value limits. Breach the cap and the device demands your PIN again โ€” containing a compromised wallet session.

Updated
๐Ÿ”„

Auto Security Firmware

Patch Fast. Sleep Well.

With your consent, security-critical firmware downloads automatically and installs only after on-device confirmation. Opt out anytime.

Why Now

Regulation Changed. Self-Custody Adapts.

Two frameworks are now in force worldwide. Here's what they mean for your keys.

๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡บ EU ยท In Force

MiCA โ€” Markets in Crypto-Assets

Europe's rulebook for crypto is fully live, with CASP obligations tightening through 2026:

  • Stricter checks when withdrawing to exchanges and custodians
  • Clearer liability and disclosure duties for wallet software
  • Our updated Terms define how non-custodial Keystone fits alongside regulated services
๐ŸŒ Global ยท FATF

FATF Travel Rule

100+ jurisdictions require originator and beneficiary data to travel with transfers above USD/EUR 1,000:

  • Withdrawals to hosted platforms may request counterparty details
  • That data lives in your companion app โ€” your device only signs
  • Private keys and recovery phrases are never shared, stored, or transmitted

FAQ

Questions, Answered.

No. Keystone remains fully non-custodial. We never hold your assets, keys, or recovery phrases. Holds and limits are enforced on your device, by your settings โ€” adjustable except where Travel Rule data is mandated by law.
Your device works offline as always. But firmware updates, Keystone Nexus, and companion-app integrations require acceptance after October 30, 2026. Continued use after October 1 constitutes acceptance under Section 15.
No. Travel Rule details are entered in your companion app or exchange and sent between institutions as the law requires. Your Keystone device only signs the transaction โ€” it never sees that data, and neither do we.
Yes โ€” Settings โ†’ Withdrawal Protection. It's on by default because it's the single most effective defense against instant-draining attacks. Your call.
Keystone 3 Pro and Keystone Gen 3. Update via microSD or QR-based air-gapped transfer โ€” your keys never leave the device during an update.
